We clean offices from top to bottom

Every office visit follows the same order

We start by emptying every trash can and putting in a fresh liner. A full can is the first thing people notice in the morning. Then we dust high, starting with the tops of cubicle walls and shelves and moving on to the air vents. Dust falls while you work, so desks come next and floors come last. Vacuum first and dust second, and the carpet is dirty again before you leave the room.

Next come the spots every hand in the building touches, like door handles and light switches. They look clean and usually are not. In the restrooms, the mirrors and sinks get done before the toilets and the floor. That way nothing from the dirtiest part of the room gets carried back to the counter. In the break room, the microwave gets wiped out inside and the tables get cleared of crumbs.

Skipping the break room is how ants get in. Middle Tennessee summers are hot and humid, and ants will find a sticky counter or the crumbs under a coffee maker fast. The fix is plain work. Every counter gets wiped, and the food trash goes out that night instead of sitting until morning. When a visit is done right, you walk in to empty trash cans and fresh vacuum lines in the carpet.

We clean office windows on both sides

Glass is the first thing a client sees when they walk up to your door, and it shows every handprint. We clean it inside and out. Outside, the frames and sills get brushed off first to knock down cobwebs and pollen. Then the glass gets washed and squeegeed, and the edges get dried by hand. Skip the frame, and the first pass drags grit across the glass and leaves a muddy streak along the bottom.

Spring is the hard season for outside glass in Nashville. Tree pollen settles on everything in March and April and turns windows a dull yellow-green. A passing shower then turns it into a film that dries on the glass. Summer brings a different problem. With the air conditioning running inside, the outside of the glass can fog up on a humid morning, and wet glass will not come clean. We wait until it is dry, so the glass does not streak as the sun hits it.

The kind of glass depends on the building. A strip center suite on Nolensville Pike has a wall of storefront glass and a door that gets pushed open all day. An older brick office usually has smaller windows set in metal or wood frames. The old houses turned into offices on Music Row often still have windows split into small panes. Each pane gets its corners wiped by hand. Inside, glass doors and conference room walls get cleaned the same way.

Nashville weather gets tracked onto office floors

Most of what ends up on an office floor walks in from the parking lot. In spring it is pollen, plus the red clay soil around Middle Tennessee, which stains light carpet a rusty brown once it gets wet. In winter, when ice is in the forecast, parking lots and sidewalks get salted. That salt dries into a white haze on tile and packs into the entry mat by the front door.

Each floor type needs its own handling. Older brick office buildings around town often have vinyl tile in the halls and break rooms. That tile goes dull when dirty mop water dries on it. The old houses on Music Row usually have wood floors. Those get a damp mop that has been wrung out, never a bucket of water. Carpet gets vacuumed slowly, including the edges and the space under each desk.

The entry mat takes more dirt than any other part of the floor. It gets vacuumed on every visit, and the tile under it gets mopped. Skip it, and salt and grit get pushed further in each day until a gray path runs from the front door to the desks. Humid summer air slows drying, so we mop with as little water as the job allows, and the floor is dry before morning.

Office chairs and couches need cleaning too

Fabric office chairs hold more dirt than most people think. Coffee spills soak into the seat, and so does a long Nashville summer of people sitting down after walking in from the heat. A chair can look fine from across the room and still smell stale up close. Upholstery cleaning is one of the services on our Google listing. On an office job that usually means the desk chairs and the couch in the lobby, if you have one.

We vacuum the fabric first, seams included, to pull out the crumbs and dust. Then the spots get treated and the seat gets cleaned. The order matters. Wet a dusty seat, and the dust turns to mud in the weave and the spot spreads into a ring. Fabric dries slowly in humid weather, so chairs are best done last thing in the evening, when they can sit empty overnight.

Some offices need help with the clutter before the cleaning can reach the surfaces. Organization is on our listing too, and in an office that usually means a supply closet or a file room that has turned into a pile. Sorting it out once makes every visit after it better. We schedule office cleaning around your workday

Our Google listing shows us open 24 hours Monday to Saturday and closed on Sunday. For an office, that means the cleaning can happen after your last person leaves, or on a Saturday when the building is empty. An empty office gets better work. Nobody is on a call next to the vacuum, and a mopped floor has all night to dry with no one walking on it.

The first visit usually takes longer than the ones after it. That is when we get the buildup nobody has touched in a while, like the dust on top of the filing cabinets and along the baseboards. It is also when we learn the building, such as where the trash goes out and which rooms you want left alone. After that, the regular visits keep the buildup from coming back.

Showing up when we said we would matters on an office job. A cleaning that runs late runs into your staff arriving in the morning. A floor still wet when the first person walks in is a slip hazard.
